WordCamp Sacramento 2016, Two Days Of WordPress Focused Learning

July 20, 2016 Jennifer Bourn

It’s official! The Second Annual WordCamp Sacramento is back and it is bigger and better than ever.

Bourn Creative’s Jennifer Bourn and Brian Bourn give back to the WordPress community by donating their time as co-organizers of the monthly Sacramento WordPress Meetup, sharing their knowledge and expertise by speaking at WordCamps, and helping to bring WordCamp to Sacramento for its inaugural event in 2015. This year, Jennifer is the Lead Organizer for WordCamp Sacramento and Brian Bourn is on the event organizing committee.

After selling out last year’s event (150 tickets) in just over two hours and fielding a lot of emails and phones calls from unhappy folks who were unable to get a ticket, we knew that we needed a bigger venue for 2016.

WordCamp Sacramento 2016 is expanding to a two-day event, happening October 22-23, 2016 at the beautiful Harper Alumni Center at Sacramento State University. With a capacity of 350, we’re more than doubling the number of tickets available.

A Theme Of Discovery

The discovery of gold in 1848 sparked the largest mass migration in U.S. history, with more than 300,000 pioneers heading west. Likewise, the discovery of WordPress over the last several years has sparked one of the largest movements online to a single content management system and publishing platform, with more than 75 million sites on the web now powered by WordPress.

Sacramento is California’s state capital and the gateway to the Gold Country. WordCamp Sacramento 2016 is the region’s premiere WordPress event and the gateway to learning more about WordPress, doing more with WordPress, and getting to know more people in your local community who work with WordPress.

With sessions focused on WordPress development and web design, website content and blogging, business, and WordPress plugins, tools, and resources, you’re practically guaranteed to hit the Mother Lode. And who knows, following the gold rush theme of Discovery, WordCamp Sacramento may be your pay dirt, helping you discover valuable gold nuggets of your own.

Get Involved With WordCamp Sacramento 2016

Like all WordCamps, WordCamp Sacramento is a non-profit, volunteer-run, event. It is created by the Sacramento WordPress community for the Sacramento WordPress community.

The event isn’t possible without sponsors. Sponsorship is what makes WordCamp go ’round, and it’s what allows us to keep tickets affordable for the entire community. If you use WordPress for your business or make your living with WordPress, we urge you to step up and show your support for the free, open source software you benefit from.
