I’m sure at some point you’ve heard the phrase, the shoemaker’s kids have no shoes. You may have even used it yourself. The silly phrase is often thrown around in jest, but never is it so prevalent as in the web design and web development worlds.
Designers and developers are the worst culprits of doing amazing work for clients, but never making time to do amazing work for themselves — and we’re often no different.
At Bourn Creative, we always operate with a full client roster, and that means client work and pending client deadlines always come first. Sometimes we go months, and even a few times, over a year between portfolio updates and refinements or revisions to our own website. But, this past week, we did make some time to update some things!
Below are just a few projects we have worked on recently:
Travel Nursing USA
Conrad Lopez hired Bourn Creative for digital strategy and consulting, a logo redesign, and the design and development of a new, modern, WordPress website for Travel Nursing USA that is easy to update and maintain.
We worked with Conrad, using the existing color palette, to design a new logo for the brand and a custom, responsive WordPress site that is easy to use and read on devices and browsers of all sizes.
Powered by the Genesis Framework, the site features an email marketing opt-in with a custom special report design, a home page slider, a branded sales and landing page template, customized Infusionsoft forms, and a third-party job board integration for available travel nursing positions.
Angelique Rewers first brought us on to create the entire brand look and feel for her first large conference, INSIDE EDGE. We got started with the event logo design, then created the sponsor prospectus and event marketing materials, including print and digital advertisements, vertical banners, CDs and the attendee binder.
We then designed and developed a custom WordPress site for the event, featuring a large home page slider, custom landing page templates, Infusionsoft integration, and a custom pop-up.
We then continued to work with Angelique on the logo design, sales brochure design, and vertical banner design for her hugely popular Velocity mastermind program, as well as chart design, handout design, and information product and order form design for her Corporate Agent brand.
Debi Berndt, Creative Love
Debi Berndt was running a multiple six figure business without support for her website, and while it worked fine, the design no longer reflected her success and the growth of her company.
She came to Bourn Creative with a new brand design in hand and hired us to bring it to life online by designing and developing a custom WordPress website and providing training to her team so they could manage and update the site easily.
The site features a custom email marketing opt-in, multiple custom landing page templates, Infusionsoft integration, and custom plugin development for simpler content formatting and application of custom styles. Upon site design completion, Bourn Creative then designed email marketing elements to use with the Infusionsoft drag and drop builder, as well as social media profile imagery.
Suzanne Evans came to us seeking support in an upleveling of her business and brand. Concerned with guiding her loyal tribe through her brand transition from the cheerful “Help More People” brand, to the new no-fluff Suzanne Evans brand, we first worked with Suzanne and her team on the design of her 10K Club and 100K Club program materials, and her Be The Change event.
Suzanne then came to us with her new Suzanne Evans logo and a rough homepage design concept, looking for a complete, custom WordPress site and an integrated blog with Infusionsoft integration and custom templates. We also provided coordinating information product design, CD and DVD design, email newsletter design, print materials design, and more.
Over time we worked with the Suzanne Evans team to design and develop custom WordPress sites for her Be The Change Event, the Shut Up Stop Whining And Make Money event with Larry Winget, and the Hell Yeah Programs website. We also designed and developed several sales and landing pages for various programs, events, and opt-ins.
